The five-star San Clemente Palace, an untouched retreat in the Venetian lagoon just a short boat ride from St. Mark’s Square, offers guests a resort that combines the charm of old world Venice with modern amenities. Formerly the Camaldolesi monastery, the building has been lovingly transformed into a luxury hotel, and shares the private San Clemente island with an ancient church. The island served as a starting point for pilgrims and knights setting sail for the Holy Land, and restoration of the buildings was executed with the utmost respect for the island’s historical and artistic heritage.

The San Clemente Palace is Venice’s big new luxury grand hotel for elite tourism on San Clemente Island. Its origins go back to 1131, the year in which the church was built. Through the years this island has always retained its image as an oasis of peace, welcoming and cordial. 

Today’s complex, enhanced by open-air courtyards, retains all the charm and atmosphere of the ancient monastery of the Camaldolesi order, built in the second half of the seventeenth century. The San Clemente Palace is able to accommodate up to 400 guests in its 200 rooms and suites, many of them looking onto San Marco and the lagoon. Its majestically furnished facilities are characterised by different decor motifs: the Nobles, the Doges, the Merchants and the Navigators. Rooms and suites have all been sumptuously designed in opulent Venetian style, with Italian marble bathrooms, tapestry carpets, in-room safe and internet access. Magnificent views of Venice and the lagoon can be enjoyed from the rooms, making a for a truly memorable incentive or business event. 

The large, centuries-old park contains a Spa - Beauty & Wellness Club, tennis courts,a scenic outdoor swimming pool, and a Pitch & Putt golf course to offer the hotel's Guests pleasant moments of relaxation and well-being.
