The Wedding Invitations
Your personality and individual style show in every detail of your wedding event, from the dress, the flowers and the cake right down to the favors. And your wedding invitations will be the one piece of correspondence responsible for setting the mood for this entire event. Below are some ideas to help you create the perfect personal invitation for your perfect day.
An elegant way to personalize a more formal card is with custom blind embossing or hot foil stamping. Have your names, a monogram, or an insignia of your choice pressed into your wedding stationary to make it uniquely yours. Blind embossing refers to a raised design that is pressed into the paper without foil or ink. Foil stamping means the design is “printed” (or stamped, rather) using a shiny metallic foil instead of ink. A picture is worth a thousand words. So why not add one to your invitation? You can have your image printed directly on a panel card along with your wedding invitation text. You can print your invitation wording on a vellum (translucent) overlay and print the photo on the card below. You can have a custom-designed card featuring both photo and text in an artistic layout. You can even just insert a regular photograph with your traditional invitation. Or, how about printing your faces on a custom envelope seal! However you do it, your guests will love seeing both of you together as a couple. You accessorize, right? So why not accessorize your wedding invitation. Tie in the colors of your wedding with a coordinating sheer organza or satin ribbon. You can use stick-on bows on traditional panel cards, use longer ribbons to secure wraps or enveloped cards, or attach embellishments such as pewter charms or dried or silk flowers with your sheer overlay. Sealing your wedding with a kiss is a great way to start off a marriage, but it doesn’t work so well on an envelope. Licking will do the trick, but you might also want try one of these more stylish alternatives: embossed seals, foil initial seals, wax seals, faux wax seals (no melting or dripping!), dried flower seals, personalized name seals, or photo seals for a personal touch. Then, get really personal…with a personal wedding website that matches your invitation ensemble. Here you can include stories of you and your fiancé, photos, on-line Rsvp’s, travel and accommodations, gift registry information, and so much more. After your wedding, you can also add photos of your big day to share with everyone. Remember to include your website address with your invitations to connect with your guests before and after the ceremony. Our invitation designer can work with you to create an invitation masterpiece with personal touches that will make it uniquely yours. Don’t forget to carry this theme through to your insert cards, matching website, wedding programs, and even your thank you notes. Make every detail count.
